Autumn warm palette and colors that suit
What to look at when actually buying something as an autumn warm. Eight colors, the makeup direction, and what this season's character is.
The deep, muted end of the warm, yellow-cast colors. Skin reads more even under color brought down a tone than under clear brightness, and the families found in earth and wood sit well. Depth shows most clearly in this season.

The hex codes here are values we picked to show each color family on screen. They are not any company's color chart or an official standard, and another studio's "coral" is a different value. Use them for direction rather than for specifying an exact color, and bear in mind that every screen renders color differently.
Direction to look in
- Lip
- Brick red, terracotta, and deep orange-brown. Bright fluorescent pink tends to float off the face.
- Blush
- Copper and terracotta shades.
- Base
- A beige base with a clear yellow cast. A pink one can sit on top.
- Metal and jewellery
- Brushed gold, bronze, copper-toned metal.
- Clothes
- Camel, olive, chocolate brown. For white, warm beige or cream reads more natural than pure white.
- Directions that may suit you less
- Bright blue-cast pinks, cool greys, and very clear pastels, near the face.
This result is a self-test for reference
This result is a self-test meant as a reference, and it may differ from a professional in-person analysis (draping). Draping holds real fabric under the face one piece at a time, which reveals more than a questionnaire can. The questions have their own limits too: the colors your screen renders, the light you are sitting in, even a bad night's sleep showing in your face all end up in the answers. Before buying makeup, trying it on your own skin in the shop is still the better way to choose.
